This photograph was taken in 1968, and it’s one of the very few candid images this family has of her. She passed away when her daughter was only three years old, and the original print showed decades of “love” by being held, cherished — scratches, tears, and missing pieces included. Her daughter asked me to ‘work my magic’ and restore it for a memory table at her son’s upcoming wedding. Watching her face as she saw the restored image for the first time was one of those moments that reminds me exactly why I do this.
